It’s Been A Long Day

It’s been a long day,
Without you at the end of the line.
Where you would say,
Tomorrow will be better just bide your time.
Nothing seemed to change,
You were always there for me.
And then it all changed,
And you are no longer there to see.
***
It’s been a long week,
And in the past I would have told you about it.
You would listen deeply,
And always offer a calming hand for me.
Now I talk to the air,
And hope you are there listening.
You are in a better place,
Better for you but not better for me.
***
It’s been a long Month,
Without knowing you are there.
We could chat for hours,
And still end the conversation with more to say.
I just have one wish,
That I could say all this things I didn’t get to.
And now you are gone,
You’re life is over and mine still goes on.
***
It will be a long life,
Without being able to tell you everything.
I love you each day,
Even if you cannot say it in return.
I will miss you each week,
Not being able to get things off my chest.
I will remember you always,
And I will tell you everything when I see you again.
