Sometimes I'm numb inside, A numbness that hurts, A pain that is not there, A pain so deep I care, Numbness that hurts. *** Sometimes I'm not myself, With a mind so silent, A silence so loud, A silence that cuts, Silence that hurts my ears. *** If I could go back to then, My mind before that day, To a time when I was myself, And there was no pain, Would I do it all over again. *** Life only flows one way, The past gets further away, With it the memories fade, And the future gets closer, Day by day by day.
