Almost everyone has had that crush, They picture life with and nothing else, No other life would be possible, Except the one where we both exist. *** The memories built of lies become faint, As the years of us not being together, We never lived that life together, But the memories feel very much real. *** You were my first true love, The famous one that got away, We could have had that life together, Built that perfect world from my minds eye. *** But those memories are not real, And it's time to let them go, Cast them back into the pool of time, Never to be as they never were and never will be.
