To The Tin Man

A heart is a fragile thing,
Easily broken and hard to mend,
Yet the Tin Man hunts it down,
Begging to have a beating one.
The Tin Man has never known,
How fragile the heart is,
What it means to be alone,
The pain of a broken one.
He cannot know the pain,
Of heart rejection,
Or of heart rejecting,
A pain unlike anything.
Here is to the Tin Man,
Do you really want a heart,
With the pain it brings,
And the risks of breaking.
