Over The Rainbow Bridge – Poem by the Pesky Poet

Your little paws left us,
As you headed off too soon,
Before we could say goodbye,
You had been inhumed.
***
We watched you grow,
Like a precocious child,
You pushed the limits,
So young and wild.
***
Without warning,
You set off on your journey,
Across the rainbow bridge,
Without care or worry.
***
And we must stay here,
Left behind when you went,
With our memories of you,
We have wept.
***
Over the bridge you went,
Out of life and time,
To the undying world,
May we meet again sometime.

      1. I had a kitty called Cheetah back in the early 90s. He was maybe 8 months old. He died of Feline Leukemia. I was heart broken for such a long time. When the Doc told me this I broke down crying in his office. I really tore me apart. And then Greysi. We had her for 8 years. She died of stomach cancer. I still have her image as my facebook profile picture. I have her buried in the back yard with a grave marker plaque. I go back there to almost every day to tell her i miss her and to say good morning. 🙂
