Music Paints Memories In The Mind – Poem by the Pesky Poet

A single cord is enough,
To flood my mind instantly,
With the memories of a childhood.

That first verse gets me,
As if I'm there able to see,
Returns me to the point in time.

That first line stops me dead,
Reruns the events in my head,
Paints a picture perfect memory.

Just the name of the song,
Can trigger the history rush,
That I can't stop no matter what.

A childhood in the past,
Still very much in my mind,
Part of who I am that I cannot hide.
