Christmas Countdown Poem 2021: 2. Memories of Christmas

There are three schools of people,
The kind who chip in with:
"It doesn't feel like winter,
because the ground is still green."
Or those who exclaim:
"It doesn't feel like winter,
It's getting colder each year."
And lastly those who don't comment at all.
For each year is different to the last,
And we can never have them back.
We live with the footage and pictures,
But most importantly the memories.
In the patchwork quilt of life,
There are big bright square for Christmas night.
