Cherry Blossom

The trees are heavy,
Blowing in the wind,
The ground changes,
A shade of pink.
***
The trees shed their spring coat,
And leave sprinkle their colour,
Over the paths and the roads,
Signalling the middle of spring.
***
Look around now,
And cherish the sight,
All the wonder,
Of Cherry Blossom.

Springtime has Come

The air is still cold,
As is the granite,
The ground still frosty,
In the morning sun,
But it is clear to see,
From the buds on the trees,
That spring has finally come.
***
The fields are green,
As are the trees,
The sheep have lambed,
Out in the land,
You can clearly hear,
From the noise out there,
That spring has finally sprung.
***
The trees are budding,
As are the tulips,
The flowers are growing,
Out in the garden,
You can clearly smell,
From the pollen out there,
That spring has just begun.

Time Moves

Autumn leaves on Summer trees,
Honey bees on Autumn leaves,
Time moves on so we might see,
those honey bees on Autumn leaves,
and Autumn leaves on Summer trees,
When we wake tomorrow.

Alternative Facts

We live in a time,
Filled with opinion not fact,
Filled with fantasy not news,
Where WordPress depresses,
And claims to be views.
***
We are closer to war,
Believing alternative facts,
Believing alternative news,
The rumour mill,
And the next daily sleuth.
***
Where are we going,
When alternative news becomes fact,
When alternative fact becomes news,
Are we lining our destruction,
Pulling the pin, lightning the fuse.
***
Is it not our right,
To believe alternative facts,
To believe alternative news,
Spreading our world,
Sharing our views.
***
Rights have responsibility,
Like teaching real facts,
Like dispelling fake news,
So be responsible and teach,
But not just your views.

Time, Just Stand Still

I am the youngest I will ever be,
Yet the oldest I have ever seemed,
Stop the clock now,
And let time stand still.

For he is the reason,
Life is never dull,
But sometimes I need,
The clock to stop,
And time to leave me be.

But he marches on,
Tick by tock
And tock by tick,
Endlessly marching to the metronome.

So cherish the time,
Because tomorrow as with now,
You will be the youngest you ever were,
But the oldest you have ever been.

Found Wandering in Aberdeen

Little Fella

This little fella,
Landed on me,
Made me happy,
For me to see,
Reminded me,
Of nature’s love,
Even if,
It’s just a bug.
***
This little fella,
Sat in my hand,
Made me think,
About the land,
Showed me life,
In the city,
With his seven,
Spotted coat.
***
This little fella,
As returned home,
To live among,
The under growth,
To feast upon,
The aphid armies,
And another,
Person happy.

Winds Of Change

The air has turned cold,
The nights are darker,
The fall of the leaves,
Is almost over.
***
People grow tired,
The world grows weary,
Some people think winter,
And just go teary.
***
The lonely find Christmas,
Too much to bare,
And sometimes it seems,
People just don’t care.
***
Find someone who needs,
Someone who could use you,
Stretch out a hand,
And let them know they’re not alone.
***
Winter happens to us all,
It makes us cold,
And makes us scowl,
Some worse than others.
***
So this is my plea,
My Christmas wish,
Find someone who needs you,
And give them a hug and a kiss.
