No Other Like You

Did you cast a spell,
After all you have trapped my heart,
Validation for this can be seen,
In this poem I have written,
Dope I am I have fallen in love,
*
Well all I can do is try,
I promise that I will,
Let you finally be the one,
So I can stop my searching,
Only one for me,
No other like you.

A Fool Just For You

Am I a fool,
To feel the way I do,
To feel this way for you,
My heart is calling out for you.
*
Was I a fool,
To think you could feel this way to,
To think you might want me,
And that your heart might call for mine.
*
Well if I’m a fool,
Then let it be know,
And let it be said,
I am a fool in love,
And I am a fool just for you.

What You Do To Me

I hear your name,
It sends a shiver down my spine,
I see your picture,
It sends me wild,
I feel your breath,
It sends my heart racing,
I feel your body next to mine,
It sends my mind running.

Right Place, Wrong Time

So it would seem,
My heart would be,
In the right place,
At the wrong time.

I love you,
But you can’t love me,
And I am happy,
Although you’ll never be mine.

What makes me happy you see,
Is knowing you are in love,
Even if its not with me,
I’m happy if your happy just as it should be.

One Day Will You Marry Me?

I dream of a day,
I can get down on one knee,
And ask you if you’ll marry me.

But I know that for now,
These are just dreams,
And may never be.

But give me my day,
And give me my time,
I will ask you to marry me.

Words of Love

If I could write a poem that would make you love me,
I would have written it already.
If I could write a song that would make you see,
How much you really mean to me.
If words could only make you feel,
The way I feel for you.
But songs and poems and words of love,
Never mean as much as a hug.

My Love For You

My love for you has only grown,
Over the years and over the miles,
I have never stopped loving you.
My heart has been yours,
Since we first said hello,
Since you first let me know.
And after all this time,
You will understand,
The way my heart demands.
Some would have given up,
And some think I’m silly,
But I still love you.
My heart calls for you,
And sings continually,
I Love You…

Will Boys Just Be Boys

Will boys just be boys,
Or girls just be girls,
Or can’t people be people,
In our small little world.
***
Why do genders have to be genders,
And not girls be like boys,
Or boys be like girls,
Or just let people be people.
***
Can’t we look beyond the gender,
And see the person,
Who likes pink and Buffy,
But is still a straight man.
***
Care not for the sex,
And ignore the gender,
Stand shoulder to shoulder,
And never surrender.
***
We are all human,
The same under the skin,
Red blood flowing through,
The veins in all of you.
***
We are born the same,
Have the same needs,
Expel the same waste,
And leave the same way.
***
Love people as people,
That’s all we need,
Don’t act out of hate,
Respect, love and be great.

We Once Said I Love You

You once said I love you without force,
Without pain, without remorse,
What we had was special,
But the bitterness came,
First it was just arguing,
Behind locked doors, then in public.
***
I once said I love you without wincing,
Without a sigh, without rolling my eyes,
What we had felt right,
But the cruelty came,
And we drifted apart,
Lived separately, Then moved apart.
***
We once said I love you without spite,
Without sarcasm, Without venom,
What we had worked,
But what finally came,
And finally ended it,
Was sharp words, and harsher jibes.

The 1967 Breakthrough

Am I dreaming,
Am I alone,
Could this be,
Could we have won,
Love is allowed,
Love is not wrong,
Society accepts us,
Society moves on,
There is still more to do,
There are those who protest,
Society will adapt,
Society has already,
Love has been accepted,
Love has no limits,
Could tomorrow be better,
Could we love free,
I am not alone,
I am not dreaming.

Light of my Life

Years passed where I asked for you,
And who knew,
You were asking for me too.
***
We may not have known each other,
But our hearts knew,
you were asking for me,
And I was asking for you too.
***
My mornings are bright,
Waking next to you,
Seeing your smile,
Just being with you,
***
Once my nights were dark,
But you see,
You are a light,
In my life to me.

Illegal Love Of 1947

I sit in my cell,
Thinking about my sin,
Wondering what I have done,
Thinking about him,
I sit on my own.
***
I stand by the window,
Thinking what is love really,
Wondering what could have been done,
Thinking what is reality,
I stand by myself.
***
I love a man,
Thinking what is wrong,
Wondering what society has done,
Thinking why love is gone,
I love on my own.

We All Deserve To Be Loved

Our world is still confused,
The LGBT community is so new,
But the concepts and ideas,
Are older than all of us combined,
LGBT month is a time to celebrate,
The achievements before,
The freedoms we have,
It is a time to reflect,
On the work yet to do,
The places we haven’t won yet,
There is still unfair places,
Places ruled by hatred,
But use this month to remember,
Humanity will win in the end,
And no matter your creed,
Sexualuity or colour of skin,
We are all human,
And all deserve to be loved.

Gay

They told me I was wrong,
They told me it wasn’t ok,
They told me it was not the way,
It’s not natural, they would say,
But just because they are they,
Doesn’t mean they are right,
Or have the right to say,
Just remember to love yourself,
And all will be ok,
Even if you are like me,
And you are gay.
