These summer days, Whisk me back in time, To those warm summer days, And stuffy nights of 2012. *** When you would drive, 90 miles an hour, Windows down, And just us in the world. *** Lady Gaga blaring, We were born this way, Us singing, Out of key and not caring. *** Dreaming you were mine, The man for me, Denim trousers, Mousy hair, and those beautiful eyes. *** It is true what they say, You don't miss it until it's gone, No matter who says it, You don't believe it until it's too late. *** Time stops for nothing, It ticks unrelentlessly on, But in my memories, I'm still riding shotgun in your car. *** Driving at 90, Not a care in the world, Feeling the summer air, Singing badly but we don't care. *** All those summers ago, Back in 2012, If only I had known, I'd have told you when I should.
