My eyes look down, As I miss you this year, It's been so long, Since you were here. *** The sound of your voice, The gifts that you gave, Are all memories now, Of Christmas far away. *** My eyes drift down, And see footprints there, Walking next to me, Where you once were. *** A tear comes to my eye, And I wish you were here, To comfort me when I'm sad, In the dark of the year. *** My eyes clear up, And I see the footprints clear, You were always beside me, You are always there.
