Poetic Contemplation

I wonder why should I try this year,
My poetic ruminations,
Have fallen on deaf ears.
The pen has failed me,
Throughout the years,
But for that I have never shed a tear.
The day before deadline,
I sit right here,
And my mind is clear.
I will write my poems,
And put them to you,
For you to judge and peruse.
I will grab my pen,
And hold it tight
To write some poems tonight.
Because who cares,
For those deaf ears,
When it’s only you there.
Only one judge counts,
And that is you,
Be kind to yourself,
Let your heart and pen be true.
