Christmas Countdown Poem 2021: 12. The Sproutlight

Once a year,
It get's a cheer,
And by some a jeer.
***
The humble sprout,
Is what it's about,
At this time of year.
***
Plates abound,
With the green,
Little ball round.
***
For some,
A christmas treat,
That's neet to eat.
***
For others,
A troubled veg,
On the christmas table.
***
It's time,
Has come to bathe,
In it's limelight
***
Wherever you stand,
On the humble bud,
You can't steal it's sproutlight.
