The Witch of Endor

Is it wrong for a man to seek,
The solace of the people deep,
The ones who’ve left this mortal space,
To find their final resting place,
As Saul once did with the witch,
Who showed him those from the ditch.
***
We all long for another conversation,
With those who can only be summoned,
Those who no longer move among us,
But seem to be always with us,
As Saul once did with Samuel,
When he spoke to the witch of Endor.

World Poetry Day: International Language

Poetry is an internationally understood language,
Each country with it’s own variant,
Some sung, some spoken and some hidden.
***
Every person feels it differently,
And no two people hear the same,
We all experience it our own way.
***
Take this time to think about poetry,
That one poem that made you feel sad,
And that one poem that made you glad.
***
We use poetry to remember those passed,
And to immortalise things in the past,
Or we use it just as a way to have a laugh.
***
Celebrate the world of poetry today,
Read something new and share it,
And please have a Happy World Poetry Day.

24. Sweet Old Saint Nic

He’s climbing in your window,
Laying your presents out,
Bringing joy to your house,
And not waking your kids up,
He’s made his list,
And he has checked it twice,
He knows who is naughty,
And who has been nice,
Here comes Saint Nic,
All quiet and sweet,
Sneaking around,
While everyone sleeps.
