Christmas Countdown Poem 2024: 3. Catalogue Hoping

It used to be Argos,
With the catalogue tome,
The kids would lust over,
For toys from him.
***
The jolly man,
In the red coat,
With reindeer pulling,
Wherever he goes.
***
But now it's TikTok,
With scrolling ads,
That make the kids want,
What they don't have.
***
So what fad awaits,
The parents of today?
A rare digital toy,
Or a stuffed pet that won't run away
