Corner flip up,
Fold down the seam,
Reach for the sellotape,
Or where it was last seen.
***
Let go of the corner,
Unravel the seam,
Find the sellotape,
Where have the scissors been?
***
Fold down the corner,
Neaten up the seam,
Grab the sellotape,
You are a human being.
***
Wish for a third arm,
Curse the human design,
Drop the corner again,
Wish to cut ahead of time.
***
Ready the tape,
Align the paper edges,
Get ready to stick,
The tape becomes folded wedges.
***
So you drop the corner,
Cut new lengths of tape,
Wish you hadn't started,
And sit and ruminate.
***
You grab a Christmas bag,
And place the gift in,
Tape the bag shut,
Claim that was always the plan.
