When you think on the midwinter celebration, It comes with a panacea of connotations, Each persons view shaped by a life, And no one view quintessential. *** For some it is the ineffable journey, Of a carpenter to be son to Mary, Distended to be born in a manger, And go through life a world changer. *** For others it's akin to vellichor, With feelings stirred by smell, Some it is more on the sounds, Like the rustle of old tinsel. *** For others it's the time of year, Where mellifluous you will hear, Christmas choirs fill the air, Radios play of Christmas cheer. *** But what does Christmas mean for you? An odious mess that will be strewn, A resplendent meal you will consume, An ephemeral moment to share love.
