I’m the Pesky Poet, a nuisance you see
Writing verse that’s clever, yet always off-key
I don’t follow rules, I don’t play by the book
I just scribble down words and call it a look
My rhymes are absurd, my meter is wrong
But I don’t care, I just carry on
I write about cats and I write about dogs
I even wrote a poem about old smelly bogs
So if you’re in need of a silly little ditty
Just call on the Pesky Poet, he’s always ready
I’ll pen you a poem, it won’t be the best
But it’ll bring a smile and maybe a little zest
So don’t be afraid, give me a chance
I may be pesky, but I’ll enhance
Your day with laughter, with silly old verse
I’m the Pesky Poet, I hope you don’t curse!
