9. Happy Hanukkah

It’s Hanukkah,
And I know what I wanna da’
It’s a time for remembrance,
It’s a time for enlightenment.
***
Even if you don’t observe it,
We have all heard it,
And so I raise this to everyone,
Have a happy Hanukkah.

8. Christmas Shop

Chop Chop,
Time to shop,
Christmas is on the way,
***
Quick Quick,
Get your pick,
For the holiday,
***
Run Run,
Get it done,
Don’t let it slip away.

6. Decorate That Tree

Get the boxes out,
Blow off the dust,
Clean out the lites,
Buff the tinsel up,
Open the tree,
Argue about baubles,
And who does the fairy,
Or is it a star,
Who give a care,
By the end of today,
Let’s just have one up anyway.

1. The First Chocolate

It’s that first crisp morning,
When you sneak out of bed,
Head down the stairs,
Grab your calendar,
And hear that door tear,
underneath is that sweetest of treats,
The first seasons chocolate,
There for you to eat.

This Old Heart of Mine

Given the world,
I would give it away,
Just to spend my time,
Laying next to you each day.

*

I have had many days to myself,
And not one of them compares,
To a single hour with you.

**

But you don’t see me,
And although I may be a young guy,
My heart is old and waiting for you,
I just want to love you in the old fashioned way,
Long nights laying together,
Just in each others company.

**

Life in my mind,
Seemed easier before,
But now I spend every day,
Just longing for you to be with me.

*

What I would give for just a kiss,
To feel your lips on mine,
And the warmth of your breath,

**

But you don’t see me,
And I am starting to think,
You never will,
My heart will forever long for yours
But it knows the drill,
Smile and move on like before.

*

But you don’t see me,
And although I may be a young guy,
My heart is old and waiting for you,
I just want to love you in the old fashioned way,
Long nights laying together,
Just in each others company.

*

Maybe one day you will see me,
But until then I must wait,
And live tomorrow as another day.

Little Fella

Found Wandering in Aberdeen

This little fella,
Landed on me,
Made me happy,
For me to see,
Reminded me,
Of nature’s love,
Even if,
It’s just a bug.
***
This little fella,
Sat in my hand,
Made me think,
About the land,
Showed me life,
In the city,
With his seven,
Spotted coat.
***
This little fella,
As returned home,
To live among,
The under growth,
To feast upon,
The aphid armies,
And another,
Person happy.

What I Would Give

You could recite python,
Without missing a beat,
Make me smile,
From cheek to cheek,
Put me in stitches,
For over a week,
And say you love me,
As big as the street,
Now what I would give,
To hear goodnight one last time.

You could make eggs,
With a runny yoke,
Find the right time,
To tell the perfect joke,
Tried to fix things,
Or just give them a poke,
And say I love you,
As big as you know,
Now what I would give,
To say goodnight one last time.
