As once was told,
On a night of cold,
When the house was still,
And the kids were chill,
Things sat in wait,
For the jolly man,
With his sack of goodies,
And stomach of milk and cookies,
To bring joy to kids across the land.
***
While times have changed,
And stockings no more,
Adorn the fireplace,
Where we burnt coal,
Santa still visits,
The good and the bad,
To leave his gifts,
To the gals and the lads.
***
To revise the old,
And bring in the new:
***
The tree was decorated,
By the TV with care,
In the knowledge that St Nicolas,
Soon will be there.
The children were sat up,
All warm in their beds,
Watching TikTok videos,
Of gifts they would get.
***
For twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the house,
The only creature stirring,
Was the computer's mouse.
