Tall buildings above the winter snow, Housing robins and squirrels, From the winters cold, Painted green on brown, With dying needles on the ground, Not resting during the winter slow, These sentinels continue to grow, Decorating the woodland floor, With pinecones, seeds and so much more, Some older and wiser than humans know, Standing watch in the winters snow.
