What Is Writing To Me – Poem by the Pesky Poet

What is writing to you?
To me it's a grey space,
An empty expanse,
Inside my head.
***
Then word by word,
The lines are formed,
And thought by thought,
The poem is produced.
***
Once in a while,
A poem comes unstuck,
And the train of thought,
Get's derailed.
***
But every so often,
Like a flash of light,
The writing just flows,
And feels just right.
***
Mansions are built,
Inside my mind,
And brick by brick,
I write them down.
***
Until after a verse,
A stanza or two,
The lines are all written,
Ready for the reader to view.
***
So, what is writing to you?
What get's you in the mood,
What makes you use your pen,
Get writing, and then?
