NEWS – 11/05/2023 – Pesky Future: New Subscription and Company Registration

Lately I’ve been pondering the future of Pesky Poetry and how best to take it forward… And how best to get more people involved. I realise that poetry published online is not something tangible to people and at the end of the day people may actually like to hold something…

Over the next months I’m considering setting up a kind of subscription service where you will receive a poem a month in the post, printed on quality card, as something tangible. With this there would be the ability to expand to sending new books or upcoming projects exclusively to the users… I’m not set on what platform I’ll use (or if I’ll self run it) but the first step is to find out if people actually want it.

Please take the time to let me know what you think of this idea. I understand this is not and will not be for everyone… And I’m talking about it being a “cup of coffee” rather than some overpriced platform.

The plan would be to start off just posting printouts of individual poems on thick(ish) card with a letter from me. Then over time expand it to include little goodies and maybe competitions for things from the peskypoetry store (https://peskypoetry.myspreadshop.co.uk/) and exclusive pre-purchase on new books at market rate.

The last bit of news is the plan to register a company. PeskyPoetry and The Pesky Poet are already the registered trademarks of the entity Pesky Poetry, the next step was to formalise the company Pesky Poetry. Rather than use the name Pesky Poetry, the name Pesky Publishing was used and is now registered in Scotland as Pesky Publishing LTD (SC768953). The copyright and Trademark to PeskyPoetry means that Pesky Publishing LTD will trade as Pesky Poetry. This will not change the way Pesky Poetry is run and is there just to formalise the work done.

Pesky Publishing LTD registration. Scotland Company Number SC768953

Over the next few weeks small details on the site will be updated to reflect this new structure. The use of Pesky Publishing allows for the publishing of more than Poetry books and opens up the ability for future works such as Sci-Fi.

As always, thank you for being on this journey with me. Who would have thought a Dyslexic Scottish Poet would get to grow his name so far.

Love,
The Pesky Poet (CEO, Pesky Publishing LTD)
