While we have Christmas spirit, The Romans had Saturnalia, A raucous celebration, Of gift giving and partying, And fun for all men around, Indeed a contemporary Catullus, Once called it "The best of days." *** Let's honour the Roman ways, And celebrate with each other, On the run up to Christmas day, Get raucous and merry, Sing loudly and dance badly, But leave the human sacrifice, In those bygone days.
